Design & Tolerancing Guidelines for ABS
- -Wall thickness: avoid ultra-thin walls <1.0–1.5 mm; thicker sections improve stability.
- -Corners: add internal fillets (>= tool radius) to reduce stress and tool chatter.
- -Threads: cut threads or install heat-set/brass inserts for stronger joints.
- -Tolerances: use tight tolerances only where functionally critical to control cost and lead time.
- -Flat parts: consider ribs or relieved backs to mitigate warpage on larger panels.
