PCTFE CNC Machining
Precision Engineered
Precision machining of PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene) for cryogenic, chemical, semiconductor, and high‑reliability applications. PlasticCNCPro – your trusted B2B partner.
Why Choose PCTFE
PCTFE is a high‑performance fluoropolymer valued for:
- Extremely low gas permeability and outgassing (excellent for vacuum, helium barrier)
- Outstanding chemical resistance to many acids, bases, and solvents
- Exceptional performance at cryogenic temperatures (liquid nitrogen/oxygen service)
- Higher stiffness and lower creep vs. PTFE, enabling tighter tolerances
- Very low moisture absorption and good dimensional stability
- Electrical insulation and non‑flammability in many environments
Typical operating range: approximately −240°C to +150°C (grade dependent).

Our PCTFE CNC Machining Capabilities
Processes
CNC milling, turning, drilling, tapping, threading, slotting, counterbores/countersinks, pocketing, profiling, and precision finishing.
Tolerances
- General: ±0.05–0.10 mm typical
- Tight features (DFM review): down to ±0.01–0.02 mm
- Flatness/concentricity per drawing
Surface Finish & Threads
- Ra 0.8–1.6 μm on critical faces
- Deburred and edge‑conditioned
- UNC/UNF, metric coarse; internal threads via tapping/thread milling
Marking & Identification
Laser or engraved part numbers, orientation marks, serialization (subject to material response).
Inspection
Material traceability & certs, dimensional reports, critical‑feature inspections, first‑article inspection on request.
Packaging
Clean, protective, export‑ready packaging; individual wrapping or tray packing to prevent deformation and edge damage.
Material Options and Sourcing
We machine virgin PCTFE rod, plate, and sheet from reputable global suppliers, including recognized grades such as Neoflon PCTFE (Daikin) and legacy Kel‑F equivalents. Grade selection is based on cryogenic performance, mechanical strength, and purity.
- ✓ Material certificates and lot traceability
- ✓ RoHS/REACH compliance information upon request
Note: Filled grades of PCTFE are uncommon; consult us for modified grades.
PCTFE vs. Other Fluoropolymers
vs. PTFE
PCTFE is stiffer, has lower creep, and holds tighter tolerances; slightly less broad chemical resistance but still excellent; much lower gas permeability.
vs. PVDF
PCTFE offers lower permeability and better cryogenic performance; PVDF may offer higher toughness and easier weldability in some cases.
vs. PFA/FEP
PCTFE provides superior gas barrier and dimensional stability; melt‑processable fluoropolymers may be better for molded or welded assemblies.
Design for Manufacturability Tips for PCTFE
Wall Thickness
Avoid ultra‑thin sections; target ≥1.5–2.0 mm for small features, proportionally thicker for larger spans.
Corners and Radii
Use generous internal radii (≥0.5–1.0 mm) to reduce stress concentration and chipping.
Tolerances
Apply tighter tolerances only where necessary; specify datum schemes to control stack‑up.
Threads
Prefer coarse threads; limit tightening torque. Consider metal counterparts for repeated assembly.
Inserts
Heat‑set inserts not recommended; discuss adhesive‑bonded sleeves or alternative joint designs if needed.
Counterbores and Seats
Define sealing surfaces and runouts clearly; call out surface finish where leakage control is critical.
Engraving/Marking
Keep minimum line widths ≥0.3 mm and depths 0.1–0.3 mm for clear, durable marks.
Environmental Control
Note operating temperature range to guide tolerance strategy, considering thermal expansion.
