Why Self-Lubricating Plastics

Eliminate external lubrication, reduce maintenance, and enhance mechanical efficiency in demanding motion and sliding applications.

01

Lower Friction

Smoother motion without external oil or grease, reducing energy consumption and heat generation.

02

Reduced Maintenance

Cleaner operation with no contaminating lubricants, ideal for food, medical, and clean environments.

03

Extended Wear Life

Improved durability in sliding, oscillating, and reciprocating contact compared to unlubricated metals.

04

Seizure Resistance

Eliminates stick-slip and cold welding issues common in metal-on-metal contacts.

05

Noise Reduction

Inherent damping properties reduce operational noise and vibration in moving assemblies.

06

Application Versatility

Options for chemical resistance, high temperature, electrical insulation, and particulate-sensitive environments.

Common use cases: plain bearings, bushings, wear strips, valve seats, thrust washers, guide rails, gears, cams, rollers, and dry-running seals.

Materials We Machine

Leveraging a wide range of internally lubricated and tribological polymer grades to meet exacting performance requirements.

PTFE

Virgin & filled. Exceptional low friction, chemical resistance. Ideal for seats, seals, and low-load bearings.

UHMW-PE

Tough, impact-resistant, low-friction. Excellent for guides, wear strips, and conveyor components.

POM / Acetal

PTFE, silicone, oil-filled grades. Stable, machinable. Gears, bushings, precision sliders.

PEEK

Unfilled & tribological grades (PTFE, graphite, carbon fiber). High temp, high PV capability.

PPS

PTFE-filled. Dimensional stability, chemical resistance, dry-run tribology at elevated temperatures.

PAI / PI

Tribo-grades with PTFE/graphite. Exceptional high-temp wear and stiffness for demanding interfaces.

Nylon (PA)

PA6, PA66, PA12. MoS2 or oil-filled. Economical self-lubricating bushings, gears, guides.

PET / PBT

Engineering grades. Low wear, good dimensional stability for precision low-friction parts.
